Device Setup Guide

IPTV Subscription for Android — Box, Phone & Tablet

Android is the most flexible platform to run an IPTV subscription Android setup on, because it covers three devices at once — a dedicated Android TV box under the television, the phone in your pocket, and any tablet in the house. One login works across all three, so you're never locked to a single screen.

Android TV Box

The main screen. Play Store built in on most models.

Phone

Catch a match on the move, on Android or iOS.

Tablet

Watching in another room without moving the TV.

Setting Up on an Android Box

Most Android TV boxes come with the Google Play Store pre-installed, which makes this the most straightforward setup of any device.

  1. 1

    Open the Play Store

On your Android box, open the Google Play Store.

  2. 2

    Install your player app

Search for and install your chosen player app — the two most common options are covered further down this page.

  3. 3

    Enter your login details

Open the app and enter the M3U URL or Xtream Codes login from your order confirmation email.

  4. 4

Let the list load, then watch

The first load pulls in the full channel list and programme guide. After that, you're straight into live TV.

No Play Store on your box? Some budget models ship without it. The same Downloader-app sideloading method used for Firestick works here too — the steps are in our Firestick guide.

Setting Up on Phone or Tablet

The same subscription extends to mobile without any extra cost — useful for watching in another room, or catching a match on the move.

  • Install your chosen player app from the Google Play Store (Android) or the App Store (iOS).
  • Enter the same login details you use on your main screen.
  • Some player apps support screen-casting to a TV straight from your phone, if you don't have a box connected.
Watching on two screens at once? Your login works on every device, but the number of simultaneous streams depends on your plan. Multi-connection add-ons are on the Pricing page.

Do You Need an IPTV APK?

Searching for an IPTV APK UK download usually means looking for a player app outside the Play Store — often because a specific app isn't listed there, or because a box doesn't have Play Store access at all.

Short answer: usually not. Where possible, installing a player app directly from the Play Store is simpler and keeps it updated automatically.

APK sideloading is really only necessary on boxes without Play Store access — and in that case, use the same Downloader-app method covered in our Firestick guide.

Which IPTV App for Android Should You Use?

Any full-featured IPTV app Android player will work with your login. Two come up most often among subscribers.

Simplest option

IPTV Smarters Pro

Available directly on the Play Store with a simple, uncluttered interface. The safe default if you just want it working.

  • On the Play Store — no sideloading
  • Works on box, phone and tablet
  • Free to install
More control

TiviMate

On the Play Store for Android TV and box devices, with more customisation for people who like arranging the guide their own way.

  • Channel grouping and reordering
  • Configurable EPG layout
  • Free to install

Both work identically well with your subscription — the choice comes down to personal preference for the interface.

Quick Troubleshooting

Three things account for almost every Android setup issue. Try these before getting in touch.

Channels not loading

Re-check the login details

Confirm the M3U URL or Xtream Codes details match exactly what was sent after checkout — one wrong character stops the list loading.

App not on your box's store

Use the Downloader method

If the Play Store isn't available on your box, use the Downloader-app sideloading steps from our Firestick guide instead.

Buffering on mobile data

Switch to Wi-Fi where you can

Mobile networks can throttle streaming speeds, especially at peak times. Wi-Fi will usually settle it straight away.

Other Devices

Watching on Something Else?

The same subscription runs on Firestick and Smart TVs too — each with its own step-by-step guide, and no extra charge for any of them.
